The Copper Doors are just a new, extra door being added to the game. They’re more of a decoration but I don’t think a lot of people will use them. But I do think that people will use them if you can lock and unlock them with an exclusive key. Just think of all the possibilities it would have. If you don’t want players or Villagers entering your base, you can lock your door. You wouldn’t have to use leavers or buttons to lock it. Being able to lock Copper Doors would be optional, giving players a choice to improve their bases defence. With this, Copper instantly becomes more useful because, not only are you making doors with it, you are also making the key. Each key is unique to each door. The Key does not disappear at all if you drop it or if you die. This would definitely make Copper Doors more desirable for players who prefer exploration over decorating. This means that the explorers of Minecraft know that their valuables are safe behind a locked Copper Door
