The recent snapshot that had wolf variants in it gave me the idea of having different kinds of birds in biomes other than the jungle biome. They wouldn't even need to be programed that much, they could just be partots with a different texture applied to them. We could have robins and bluejays in oak forests, cardinals in birch forests, woodpeckers in dark oak forests, pigeons and doves could spawn around villages, crows/ravens in plains biomes, ECT...
They would have to be small birds so that they could still use the same basic parrot model, but I think there is a lot that you could do with that, and it would make the various forest biomes feel more alive.
