I must say, the developers really improved the wolf armor by a long shot. So much that 2 creeper blasts directly on top of a wolf wearing it only chip its armor twice before it breaks. This is at the very least more than any mob can sustain and much more than players are able to, even with full netherite.
However that's not my concern and this is something that has been on my mind a lot since it was revealed. Tamed wolves with wolf armor are well-protected against basically anything if they can survive a creeper explosion at ground zero. And now tamed wolves are getting double the health of what they used to have, meaning they are pretty much indestructible. I would say that this is not only redundant but unbalanced as players still only have 20 health and wolf armor is incredibly easy to get if you have the resources available. Tamed wolves, at least to me, do not have any qualities that would justify that much health, on top of the ludicrous protection they have with their armor.
All in all it really just feels unnecessary to give a tamed wolf a ton of extra health while they already have a surefire way of protection against practically any incoming damage, aside from powder snow for some reason.
