Hear me out on this one. After you tame a wolf, if you try to kill it (in this case, harm it 2 or more times) the tamed wolf will run away. After 10 seconds, if you're chasing after it, it will start attacking you. However, if you wait a couple minutes, the wolf will forget you, and you can come back and tame it again.
