Redstone latch block represented as a battery

Bedrock please:  Currently Redstone latches are bulky to build for the simple functionality of "memory." What if there was a version of the Redstone block that became charged when receiving the rising edge of a Redstone pulse, and discharged when recieving the rising edge of a redstone pulse while charged. It would need an input side for this probably. This block could be a represented as a battery. Zinc could be added to the game to be able to craft it, or just add a recipe with existing mats like copper, redstone, and maybe iron. The input side could be the little nib of the battery. The battery could be a block that is directionally placed.
