Why did you take away my eyes from Character Creator???

Started up Minecraft and my character that was completely gone. Then I went to recreate my character and the eyes I have been using were GONE! Gone gone. Not there, not an option anymore!!! Why would you do this?!? My son is SO upset. This is how I've looked in game for a LONG time and it looked just like me. Me and his mother share custody, so we play on days he's at his Mom's and he has connected with character and now I look different. Not cool. Stop taking things away from Character Creator!
