I've seen some ideas to add new blocks and such, but I think adding functionality to an existing block for the purposes of conversion while also giving Bogged the upper hand vs skeletons in their native habitats would, IMO, be the sweet spot.
Adapt. Convert. Overcome.
So, here is the idea. Normal skeletons should sink in mud, similar to how powdered snow acts. While stuck in the mud, after some time, the skeleton would convert to a Bogged, at which time they can jump back up through the mud block and move around as normal.
This has a few benefits and adds interaction in the game. Bogged have the tactical advantage in Mangrove Swamps over normal skeletons during infighting. Skeletons can be converted, achieving parity with other mob variants (Stray, Husk, Drowned). This also means that skeletons can be easily sorted in farms.
