So you plan to introduce new mob variants for each biome. Flowers have only decorative uses. I had an idea how you could tie these ideas together into one whole.
Let the skeletons be able to use flowers and other decorations, such as ferns and snow, to buff their arrows. For example: Sniffers fireflower - fire arrows. Swamp moss and red mushrooms - poisoning, Ferns and snow - slowdown. Dead bushes - starving. It’s not worth going further and giving all the effects of a suspicious soup.
This new mechanic will allow you to add variations for each biome in a completely reasonable way, let players auto-apply effects on auto farms, and even give sense to the sniffer flowers.
