9/10, too much water

Anyone else notice that there's way too much water? It feels like every world I make, it feels like I'm next to an ocean. Every land mass feels like an island. I create a single biome desert world, and still there's an ocean next to spawn. I go underground. Guess what? giant caves filled with water. water is so annoying to work around, and it's inescapable. Please, in the next update, make water less common. Please.
