Minecraft realms

Hi, there needs to be more information about what's required to play on minecraft realms, I just wasted the cost of a 10 player monthy subscription because based on how the FAQ describes the service,I thought that's all I needed to invite my playstation friends to play minecraft, it doesn't mention that playstation plus was needed. I feel ripped off.

    I don’t think that realms should be tied to console subscriptions at all. All I want to play is Minecraft. I shouldn’t have to pay for a million other games just to play multiplayer cross-console.
