Suspicious Soul Sand

It is impossible to beat Minecraft on peaceful difficulty. Here's my idea that might fix this.

In the Nether Fortress, suspicious soul sand could appear in place of the blaze spawners. This block could be useful not only on peaceful difficulty, but perhaps on other difficulties. When you excavate this block, souls from the soul sand cause damage to you, and after you unearth valuable loot (most often it should be Blaze's rods), you will be subject to the Curse of Souls effect, which can only be removed with the help of a golden carrot. The Curse of Souls effect no longer allows experience to be gained and does not last indefinitely.
