A soul stealer is a mob that spawns in the deep dark on hard mode when the warden summons it. It is equal to the player in power. This mob is very smart and is automatically hostile to the player, It resembles a skulk version of the early warden texture. It does not find you by sound like the warden but senses your soul. Every three seconds it sends out a signal that sounds like a skulk sensor and uses echolocation and locates you if you are within 30 blocks (does not go through walls.) If you are killed by this mob it takes away two levels of XP. If you do not have two levels or more the soul stealer steals your soul (say that three times fast!) and you are teleported to an ethereal realm where you chase your soul around a skulked volcano. If you don't catch it you die and can't respawn. If you catch it you are teleported to spawn with all your items. A stealth potion (see my "new potions" post.) does not work on the soul stealer. When it dies it drops a skulk sensor, and its heart. The heart can be made into a staff of echolocation, that, when used makes every entity and player in a 30-block radius glow blue. The nearest mob under this effect is automatically target by your arrows that go through walls and weave through other non-targeted entities to its target getting extra XP on a kill. With a grindstone you can use your own levels to increase the radius of the staff. (A level per block.) If you use more XP than you have you lose your soul and go through the event above.
