My Allay is going near my Nether Portal from other rooms

Recently, whenever I exit my Nether Portal, I find my Allay in the same room as it. This only happens when my Allay is holding something. When I go into the Nether, I make sure my Allay is in a completely different room with no exits so that it can’t follow me. I still find it in the portal room when I exit the Nether even though the Allay would literally have to open 3 doors to get there. I would like my Allay to stay in the room I put it in so please can you stop it from doing this
