What I would like to see in the game is some resource pack changes:
1. Technical changes for minecraft's rendering engine. Current minecraft engine supports only 22.5 and 45 degree angle rotation, which of course is really limiting. What I would want to see is the ability to rotate objects at any angle.
2. Glow, animated textures, and particles. You cannot animate textures for items or entities, which of course is pretty limiting. Most of the resource packs use optifine to get around that, but some people use fabric or play on vanilla. Having the ability to add ambient effects and animations would be cool and would unlock more potential!
3. Custom animations. Vanilla minecraft supports only java animations, which are pretty tough to make. Most artists use geckolib to get around that, but not everyone. You also can't make animations for blocks and items at all, same goes for players (which are actually entities too!), though people use playeranimations, it is sadly fabric-only. Another thing I would like to see is the ability to animate only certain parts of a model, which could be done with referencing each animation for each group (or cube) in the model.json file.
4. Voxel rendering engine. Not actually an engine, but this allows magicavoxel or any other voxel editor's models to be exported into the game, without the need of performing extra steps with software.
Now this shouldn't take much time, because bedrock edition already has all of this.
