What are post backups?
This is a new option for posts. A post could be backed up by its owner whether it is pending approval or not. Except moderators, only the owner of a post can see post backups. Effectively, post backups can act as post drafts. Post backups do not count as part of a user’s contributions.
How do post backups work?
Vote data is retained and synced, backups can be edited, but a post backup cannot be posted unless the original post is deleted and all other backups are not actively posted. If a post backup is edited, it will lose a random amount of votes depending on how much it changes, If a user loses their vote on a post, they will have to vote again by decision.
How many post backups can be made?
Only one backup can be made. If any attempt is made to create a second backup, an error message will be given.
Moderation on post backups
- Post backups are checked for profanity. If there is any, the backup is either removed automatically, or the profanity is filtered and hashed out.
- Post backups can be seen by moderators. It can be reported and looked at by moderators.
