Minecraft’s touch controls have gotten much better over the updates, with the new controls and the customization, but could still be greatly improved. Mojang should update the new “customize controls” option.
The Sidebar
There should be a sidebar that has a lot of unused buttons. The player would be able to drag and drop the buttons on and off of the sidebar, and on the actual screen. The sidebar would have many buttons that aren’t on mobile, like a pickblock button or a button to change perspective. This would let us add more buttons without worrying if the screen will get crowded. It would also allow the player to not have buttons they don’t use.
The Multi-Press Button
Right now, on mobile devices, to do things like pillar up, you need to hold down the place button and the jump button, which can take up both the player’s hands. This button would automatically hold down up to 5 other buttons, as long as you hold down this button. In the sidebar, there would be 5 dropdown menus, and each would show other buttons (place, sprint, jump, ect). When you select one, a new button will appear in the sidebar. When you press it, it will automatically press the buttons you selected.
Example: if you select jump and place in 2 of the dropdown menus, whenever you press the multi-press button, you would automatically jump and place a block, as if you clicked jump and place manually.
This would help us do more things, since they would have to hold down less buttons to do the thing they want to do.
