The sprinting thing would be very helpful for parkour.

    1) turn on auto sprint, it makes the players sprint if you move the joystick a little more forward.

    2) you can't use the action buttons on "joystick and tap to interact" since you would need to use a crosshair for that

    otherwise, great ideas!

    1) Unfortunately you need to push the thumb far away on such a large joystick to auto-sprint. I hope there's ways to customize the joystick size, position, and input AOE, where the joystick can get pushed even if your thumb's slightly outside of the button.

Also, I just hope that if I choose the sprint button, it stays ON until I press it again to toggle off. It keeps turning off when I release the joystick, leading to deaths.

    2) Yes, and we can assume a crosshair on the "joystick & tap to interact" mode. Some actions like bucket-fishing and crossbows are extremely difficult without action buttons, but the third no-tap crosshair mode makes building etc difficult as well. We need to combine the best of both!

I'd also like to add how getting furnace items are extremely slow as well, you need to tap 64 times to get 64 iron and there's no take-all button on furnaces, or craft-all button for crafting. Hopefully that can be changed in the future!

It seems it's possible to change joystick position/size in 1.20, but it's kinda hidden. There's no way to change joystick AOE though. I could make a small joystick to allow an easy auto-sprint top-speed without straining my thumb, but if I release the joystick & try to press it again, my thumb often miss the small joystick & my character ends up looking around or tapping something. Ideally I'd like a tiny joystick with big input AOE, it's common in mobile games to get top speed quickly. Alternatively, a large joystick with small "deadzone" can allow it to reach max speed easily without pushing it far.

To put it simply, I just want my character to easily sprint without having to strain my thumb, and I want the joystick to be large enough such that it's unmissable by my thumb. But if I make it big, I unfortunately have to strain my thumb to reach top speed.

I've noticed several glitches on the d-pad buttons mode:

If you increase jump button size, then enter water, your controls will revert to default, because the big jump button overlaps the up-down swim buttons that suddenly appear.

And if you go to shallow 1-block water with d-pad controls, the up-down swim button appears, but if you hold "up" to get out of water, you'll swim up but the button disappears & reappears, so by holding the "up" button your character will end up breaking a block, etc. You'll have trouble getting out of water. Compare this with the joystick mode's swim-up button & you'll see the difference.
