TNT duplication drops a lit TNT block, but why does it not drop a tiny TNT rod? A TNT block is just some TNT rods, as seen in the texture, so if it get pushed by a piston and lit at the same time, it can drop one less powerfull TNT rod, without destroying the block. Then TNT duplication can be called a feature.
