1.21 adds the Trial Chambers, a new combat-oriented structure, but there is one thing I can't get behind, that is the idea of an enemy that uses a shield.
The Copper Warrior would be a mob that appears in the trial chambers, it would spawn from a trial spawner in a similar fashion to how the breeze does (one at a time in 2-3 base waves). It would look similar to a player, but wearing more knight-ish armor (maybe 3d? also without the feather hat).
It would have 20 health, but also 15 armor points, as well as 2 base damage (with an additional 6 by holding an iron sword, so 8 damage).
Upon spawning from a spawner, it will also be wielding an iron sword and a shield. When fighting a player, it will do things such as strafe, walk backwards and forwards, and will sometimes raise its shield in defense of an attack (it will also attempt to do this for incoming arrows).
The shield functionality would perform the same as a normal players, can be bypassed with piercing or by going behind the target, and can be temporarily disabled with an axe.
The Copper Warrior, upon death, will drop copper ingots, it is also somewhat resistant to knockback, making it a little harder to keep away.
