Here's the idea, when your in the trial chamber, some pots will be trapped, this will work similar to the sculk shriekers in ancient cities. I feel this can work in two ways.
1. A certain percentage of pots in the trial chamber have the "trapped:1b" nbt tag. Once you break 5 Trapped pots, a trap will happen, or something will spawn.
2. Every pot in the trial chamber has the "trapped:1b" tag and every time you break one it has a chance to proceed the counter, you get 5, your out.
2.5. A slightly different approach is when the counter gets to 5 than every time after that has a increasing chance for something to happen.
A way this trap could work could also include the next time you use a trial spawner the mobs will spawn with gear and potion effects, or stronger new mobs spawn.
