Custom servers in Bedrock console editions

There should be a way to add servers that you host yourself or friends host onto the Nintendo switch edition, Xbox, and PlayStation version. I know it’s possible because the option is there for phones and pc but not consoles, and it is also possible for consoles to do this anyways by changing dns servers, but it’s annoying to have to change them with every single update. My friends and I have a server that we all like to play on but I always have to wait til I get home to play on it where my pc is, so it would be awesome if it was supported natively rather than finding a dns server that will make it work. It seems like a simple addition and I never understood why they took that feature away for only consoles.
