In Minecraft there are 5 modes of travel, minecarts, boats, mounts, elytra, and self-propulsion (walking, swimming, sprinting, etc.), and I seems funny to me that 4 of the 5 of them suck. Elytra are the only decent mode of transportation. I think that minecarts, boats, and mounts should be buffed to compensate.
-Minecarts: They should be able to reach a higher top-speed faster. They should definitely have breaks.
-Boats: There needs to be a way to make ‘em faster (both on water and on ice).
-Mounts: Mounts need to be trainable. If you tame a horse and use it regularly it will become faster. Same with jumping, the more you jump the better it gets. Also, horse armor should be turned into universal mount armor. Leather Mount Armor on a strider would keep it warm on land and it would only be cold during rain instead of dead.
-Self-Propulsion: Frostwalker makes it so you can walk on powdered snow.
I also think elytra should get nerfed. They are way to OP (and dangerous) in my opinion. I’d use them more if they got nerfed to be completely honest.
-Elytra: Elytra rockets should launch the player straight up, not forward, (as seen in MC Dungeons: Echoing Void DLC) and then you just glide. They should only take damage when a rocket it used (or if you crash land) to prevent abruptly falling out of the sky.
