We have the blaze, represents fire. We have the Breeze, represents air. There should be 2 more blaze variants that represent Earth and Water. Each of these could drop their own rod which can be made into powder. Combine all these powders with an ender eye and you get an eye of ender. This will change progression in Minecraft significantly as you will have to overcome new obstacles so that you can craft the eye of ender fully. It will make you explore more biomes before defeating the ender dragon, and will motivate players to visit the trial chamber before going to the End.
