The idea is there to facilitate piston extenders, the Activator piston would operate similarly to the piston-observer combo, with a caveat, the sticky version remains activated even if unpowered as long as the block it is holding is unmovable, this mechanic is there so that once the first block gets activated, it will push the first block, and any others up to the push limit, and then activate the block in front, which in turn, makes another activator piston do the same, up until there are none anymore, and with the function that it remains extended if holding a unmovable block, and only once said block becomes movable again it retracts, once the last activator piston of the chain deactivates, it will be pulled by the second last, and so forth, ideally operating like a slime block so you wont require the repeated activations of normal piston extenders, retracting fully at the end, being a far more elegant way of doing piston extenders than the maddening way it gets done in normal Minecraft, as for the flip flop block, its a addition that replicates the zero tick "exploit" of sticky pistons, (maybe made with honey instead of slime and being only "adhesive") only pulling a block if it hasn't already pushed one, i find both additions necessary, since if the last block is also a sticky activator piston, it will pull the block at the end, removing munch of the benefits of having a easy and streamlined way of doing piston extenders.
