The path of Minecraft has almost never changed, so it should be changed in new versions.
With update 1.20 we got a new elemental Brezze. So now we have 2 elemental mobs, Blaze-the fire elemental And Brezze-the wind elemental. We need twose more elementals associated with water and stone.
And from each of these elementals should fall a special item (like blaze stick), which a crafting with the ender pearl, gave a new eye that need to open a end portal.
You need 3 fire eye, 3 wind eye, 3 water eye, 3 stone eye.
Or you need this 4 differant elemental materials to combine with ender pearl to get a ender eye.
Each elemental will spawn in its own structure, like Blaze in nether fortress or Brezze in trial chamber.
So the player needs to visit all these structures to complete the game and kill the ender dragon, which will force the player to travel the minecraft world.
