Now that Mojang has taken the leap and added automated crafting to the game I think the next big step that could be made for automation is automatic block placers and breakers. We already saw versions of these in the April Fools Update with crafting recipes and the possibilities they would open up are insane.
For example, if this change was to come with movable tile entities on Java we could have:
- Automated mining machines that smelt ores and craft them into blocks for storage.
- Automated pathbuilders with cobblestone generators, this could be compounded with autosmelters and crafters to make any smooth stone variation as well.
-Automatic concrete farms.
-Streamlining of any other farms that need blocks to be broken like every crop or tree farms.
