Crafter UI Tweaks

Hi, Been playing with the new Crafter Block in snapshot 23w42a and I love the block.

Only thing I could see adding is the ability to pick an item to craft instead of using Redstone and a timer to craft an item you want.

How would it be done?

I suggest using something like a new "Blueprint" Item to the game where you can place your crafting into that blueprint place it in the crafter and let the crafter only craft that one item. This could also be useful for people who dont want to use it by giving the option of keeping the crafter how it is now if you want a Redstone look.

 

The blueprint could be crafted by paper and Blue dye and all you would have to do is right click this blueprint to open an GUI to allow you to put items into it for crafting (like a sword) then the blueprint could be put into the crafter by right clicking the crafter or something or just place a GUI slot in the top left of the Crafter GUI and just place this blueprint there.

  Yes, this seems much simpler! I feel like it would be really annoying to have to send a timed redstone pulse every time you want an item to be released into the crafter. Blueprints definitely the way to go!

  Exactly I made a suggestion earlier about this. In Modded mc, they are called patterns you have blank patterns and then actual patterns. Way better then trying to time everything out especially if you are playing on a server. Servers do have lag spikes and last thing we need is to have a sword made into a shovel all because the crafter received the sticks first.
