Allays should be able to interact with the crafter, I think it would make a very lively gameplay experience and give many players the push to actually go out and search for allays in their world.
In the showcase the crafter was hooked up to a bulky redstone contraption, which especially for new players might not be feasible to recreate, or not fit the look of your base. In addition to the redstone functionality, I suggest adding the allay as a beginner friendly/builder friendly automization for the crafter.
Allays flying through your base, gathering ressources from dispensers or farms, putting them into a crafter and then storing the crafted item would not only be a nice aesthetic addition to otherwise rather static minecraft bases but would also simplify farms for a lot of people. You can return from caving or exploring to find your allays making new equipment, like rockets or pickaxes for you, or preparing you for your next build project. I feel like Allays so far have been lacking behind their potential as additions to your gameplay and this feature would add to them tremendiously. Also it just sounds neat.
I don't know the best approach for implementation, but I think adding a new "instrument" with a noteblock on top of a crafter (similar to the other noteblock instruments) would be cool. It could call allays holding (particular) items to put their items in the crafter below (similiar to beehives maybe).
(If you’re already at it, this could be done with furnaces etc. as well)
