Why the voting?

At first, I thought the voting was a fine idea to get the community involved. But now that a mob I have always wanted in Minecraft (the penguin) is part of the mob vote, there is a chance it might not even be added. I think mobs should just be added if the developers think they should be in the game. And what's worse is that these are real life creatures! These are things that have no reason as to why they can't be added to the game, unlike the made-up creatures, which don't have any reason to be added because they don't exist.

    Marketing, hype for live event. They've said these mobs could c0me in a future release, not gone forever.
