I came up with this idea while brainstorming ideas for an easier way to get frogs to the Nether for froglight production. What if you could make frogs hibernate so you could pick them up like items and carry them around in your inventory? (At least temporarily...)
Basically, similarly to how real frogs hibernate when it gets freezing cold, you trigger frog hibernation by throwing snowballs at them until they freeze, and then you can pick them up by right-clicking them so they appear in your inventory. Then you can place them down and either wait for them to thaw, or put them next to a heat source to wake them up faster.
Of course, carrying a hibernating frog isn't quite keeping a fish or axolotl in a bucket. Mainly because those frogs won't hibernate forever! Each hibernating frog has a timer that's constantly ticking down, and once it hits zero, the frog wakes up and jumps out of your inventory! This even applies to container blocks like chests and barrels, the timer's still counting down, and it will escape the container when it wakes up! (Which I can imagine some particularly clever redstone engineers can do some clever stuff with...)
I just think this would be a way to transport frogs that would make sense while adding something new to the gameplay (and would hopefully take some of the frustration out of making froglights!)
