Clearly, there are some mechanics and changes being made to Minecraft that are quite controversial in Minecraft's fanbase ecosystem. Especially with the new villager balances coming to 1.20.2, I think that Mojang should take a page out of Sega's book. Allowing higher customization options at world creation, letting players toggle different features in and out of the game (Such as the elytra nerf, and the aforementioned villager updates) would allow players to pick and choose their favorite setup of Minecraft, whilst also allowing the game to evolve like it has been for the last few years. Bedrock already sort-of has this, but i want to see more from it. Not to mention that we already have the gamerules settings, it would be a seamless addition, from my understanding.
TL;DR: Add toggles on world creation to allow players to play with or without recent features/changes that they may not desire.
