I like what is happening in the villager test thingy, but I don't think it really fixes the problem; People who use villagers will still setup villager trading halls, to fix that, here is what I suggest; Change the way villagers cycle their trades, by making it that villagers randomize their trades every day, even if they are Lv5, so you will get a random two trades from every level you have, but you do not have to trade with a villager to lock their trades(for the day), so you have to wait a day for one cycle per villager. This will make it maybe fun to find out what trade you will get. However it will make it so that it will need more trades, here are some examples:
- More trades like the stick trade, as you can't just get a villager that gives you it, you would have to hope you get the trade e.g. mason asks for cobble, librarian asks for raw sugar cane
- Trades that are "OP" but would no longer be as you can't just get a villager for it e.g. farmer gives you gapple, cleric gives diamond,
- Trades that are just useful e.g. farmer gives wood and saplings, fisherman gives you nuggets of both types,
- Trades that nobody would buy e.g. butcher gives rotten flesh, cleric gives bone, toolsmith gives wooden tools,
- Trades that make leatherworker, butcher, fisherman(see#3), mason(see#1), and cartographer useful.
