The suppresor

An expensive redstone component that can directionally suppres a block update that its facing. Update suppression was an interesting mechanic and this way you could use it without being able to crash a server or anything. Perhaps it could be quite expensive, like needing an ancient debris to work and it would be crafted with a redstone torch surrounded by powered rails, something like that. Patching update suppression only resulted in oom suppression, which is much more dangerous.
