Crafting assintant saving the crafting version

When an item has more than one way of being crafted, the player upon the crafting assistant needs to right click in the item to see all versions of the crafting and select the suitable version (e.g. sticks, that can  be crafted with bamboos or wooden planks). The problem is that  after the crafting being made, the player needs to select the version again to do the same crafting. This can be pretty annoying when making a lot of sticks using only bamboo, and it feels like the crafting assistant loses it's porpouse of being practical. The solution of this issue would be to save the crafting version after the palyer selecting it once. I think this is a great idea and would improve the game in a way where future items that may receive a crafting variant would benefit from this feaure too.
