Unsure if this is the right spot to post this, however I do want to give my thoughts.
I have been a minecraft player since at LEAST 1.8, but I don't even know for sure with how long it's been and how young I was when I played it.
I've never had any problem with an update prior, I was a little unsettled by the ore distribution change but I've adjusted to it fine at this point.
However in my time playing the game, the main thing I've been a huge fan of for the past several YEARS has been Villagers!
They've been a massive enjoyment for me through the game for several reasons. A majority of this late game work goes towards enchanted books, and I use villagers because they are miles more consistent to get, but also takes a hefty bit of work involving emerald obtaining which in turn helps your world flourish.
Compare this to having to search for Enchanted books in various structures, or using the Enchanting table which is entirely inconsistent, and if you don't have the right enchantment, you need to waste levels, lapis, and time. To add this change in biomes makes the process more tedious and grindy, which hardly solves a problem, and having books cap out at lower levels means that you might not even be able to get the perfect gear, due to the Anvil's "TOO EXPENSIVE" issue.
There is little reason to nerf the villagers and provide no proper alternative. I use villagers not becaus they are "TOO OP" but because they're the only proper way I can get the right gear.
I'd talk more but lmt lol
