Pet Roaming

Dear Mojang - Do I have the proposition for you. 

I never let my pets stand because they are stupid and get killed. HOWEVER I LOVE my pets- I think it would be beneficial if there was an item, maybe some special fence, or a mode where you can let pets freely roam around the spawnpoint or some area that the player chooses cause that way we can enjoy our pets without having them trail us. Thank you Mojang, thank you Sweden, and God bless our great nation.
