When you are making your redstone suggestions, please note that Java and Bedrock will not have the exact same the same redstone systems - this would require redoing redstone system completely on one platform or the other. The two systems are functionally different and are going to stay that way. Please be sure to tag your suggestions with (Java) or (Bedrock).

Daylight Detector Block Light mode

The Daylight Detector presently has two modes, one for detecting daylight and a second for detecting how dark the sky is.

This suggestion is to add a new, third mode, where the block detects light from blocks.

In this new third mode, light from torches, redstone torches, blocks of glowstone, redstone lamps, etc., can be measured by the Detector.

    I actually think it should already do that in the normal mode and just output whatever has the higher value. I think that would be a lot more useful. By doing so you could also limit the output. For example if you place a torch 1 blocks away it will only change the output when you reach light level 15 of skylight and by shading you can do the opposite (which is already in the game), so with the added feature of detecting block light it would allow to make very elegant bandpass filters to select certain times of the day
