Copper chains would be a new type of chain made from copper blocks and redstone. When put between copper blocks or conductors, copper chains would transfer an "electric" charge of 15. They would have four oxidation stages that would affect the probability of the chains actually transferring the charge. (Normal = 100%, Exposed = 75%, Weathered = 50%, Oxidized = 25%). More copper blocks could be used as extenders and corners. Like those blocks, copper chains' states could be preserved with honeycomb. Charges could be maintained and repeated through an enclosed circuit of chains (like a simple redstone clock).
Conductors would be a new block made from copper blocks, a redstone block, and iron. It would convert the electric charge from the copper chains to a redstone pulse that matches the electric input. At first, this might seem overpowered because the chains could act as vertical and floating redstone. However, the necessity of lightning for power and honeycomb for preservation nerf this new mechanic. Besides, the crafting recipe could also be adjusted. Copper chains would be beneficial in certain contraptions where you need a tad of randomness. Instead of using chickens and pressure plates, you could just use these new chains. Additionally, the rustic style could be used in steampunk builds.
