Ocelots have been in Minecraft since some of the earliest days of the game, they’ve been a staple of Minecraft and when introduced where the go too (and only way) of taming our beloved feline friends. However since the dawn of minecon 2018 and update 1.14, ocelots have lost their luster, no longer are our orange furry friends companions on our adventures, rather they are merely relegated to the role of background filler to a biome many of us don’t often visit (unless you’re a panda protector), my solution to this sad scenario is simple (alliteration included), we should keep ocelots and cats separate, however rather than remaining untameable background mobs we barely see, instead they could be tamed also as a new “variant” of cat, after all, dogs and wolves are visually identical to eachother minus the collar of course, why not have the same aesthetic option for cats? There could also be unique features for tamed ocelots, such as the ability to attack similar to dogs, or perhaps instead of warding phantoms and creepers, this cat warns of threats such as nearby hostile mobs with a special “meow”.
In conclusion, I believe with some work, the ocelots could be returned to their former glory, and it would be an awesome addition to the game, as well as giving further reason to visit an otherwise not commonly visited biome, I hope we can restore these magnificent mobs to their proper power.
