To put it simply, this would be a feature for map creators to make more creative sound design. With this update, the playsound command would include various effects to apply to sounds.
For the purposes of this idea, there'd be a maximum of 1 effect per sound. Some effects that would be added include:
- Reverb
The strength will increase the decay of the reverb.
- Bitcrush
The sound will be distorted with a bitcrush sound. The strength will increase the mix of how bitcrushed the sound is.
- Saturation
This would apply a basic saturation to the sound, which would increase it's "richness"
- Low/High pass
A low/high pass for frequencies. The strength would range from -1 to 1. -1 being a full lowpass, 1 being a full highpass, and 0 being a bandpass.
Most of these wouldn't be integrated into the gameplay, but instead just reserved for creators to make more unique sound design.
As a noteblock music creator using open note block studio, it'd be really helpful to have more effects to work with when making music to vary the sound.
