I believe that older versions of minecraft should be able to purchase for the sole purpose of being able to transfer worlds from one device to another. When a device is no longer able to receive updates based on Mojangs choice to do so, it causes many issues for the player and their only option is to buy minecraft somewhere else to be able to play with friends. When a player can’t manually transfer their files to the new device, their only option is to upload their worlds to a realm and download them on the new device and not being able to do that because the game is updated is not fair to the player. I understand it wouldn’t make sense for someone with an older version to play with someone with the newest version in a realm because things would look different for both players so that’s why I only suggest it for when you’re by yourself and need it as a way to transfer data. This would make the transfer process so much easier and people wouldn’t have to worry that they’ll lose all their progress if Mojang decides to stop updating their device. There should be a simple way to get all their data to a new device.
