Since there is now suspicious sand and gravel, why not ice. This special ice would have items and stuff inside of it, like suspicious sand and gravel. However, you would be able to see them floating in the ice. Also, instead of a brush, you would have to craft an ice pick to remove the items. It would also be cool if you could find an occasional mob frozen in the ice that would thaw out in a few minutes if you removed it. Another cool feature would be another ancient mob (like the sniffer). Sniffer eggs are found in warm oceans, so why not have a distant cousin to the sniffer (like strays to skeletons/zombies to husks/villagers to illigers). It would find ice plants and stuff like that.
