redstone power doesnt go down stairs flat face

dear developers of minecraft,
as a person who does redstone a lot ive come to hate wiring things, and so i come to you with a suggestion and full of hope for a better future for all the redstone community
currently in the game there are slab towers, a way for redstone to travel up and not down
these are a good feature and a very useful one at that being used everywhere
BUT you have made a crucial mistake, why, would you make it so that redstone cant go down the FLAT FACE of the stair?, the stairs look like they can make redstone go down them and can be used to COMPACT many builds and it does not seem like a thing outside of the minecraft way, so please, developers why cant you make it so redstone goes down the stairs on its flat side and can still go down if on the non-flat side? so its like a half-half slab which i guess it is cause its a 3/4ths of a block
ANYHOW i hope you read this, realize the potential in making thousands of people happy by making redstone power go down the flat side of the stair and i wish you all a very good day :]
