GOOD idea could pair with a new enchantment called "menacing" which acts like a hostile mob repellent.

This could be a very large part of character customization. You be able to put designs on the hood just like a shield or banner. Also would the hood take the helmet slot or not?

Perhaps have them found in all structures and a villager trade and have a overlay like the Carved Pumpkin once worn. Also, the hood should also "hide" players from aggravated neutral mobs. For example, should you hurt a villager and aggravate a golem, wearing a hood will simply make the golem ignore you.
