I think copper wires should simply act like regular redstone wires with the only difference being that it doesn’t link up with regular redstone wires. It still reacts identically to redstone components (repeaters, observers, skulk sensors, etc.) like how ordinary redstone dust would with the only difference being it’s inability to connect to each other. It’s a small change but I think that being able to have 2 redstone wires side by side without linking up could have a large impact.
But why stop at 2? What if wires can be dyed the 16 dye colors with each one unable to connect to different colors other than their own. Restone contraptions can be easier to compact and figuring out which wire connects to where will be simpler.
Copper Wire Crafting Recipe:
2 Redstone Dust + 2 Copper Ingots = 4 Copper Wires
Requires 2x2 grid arranged in a checkerboard pattern.
Colored Wire Crafting Recipe:
8 Copper Wires + 1 Dye Color = 8 Colored Wire
Requires 3x3 grid arranged with the dye in the center with copper wires surrounding it.
Here are some suggestions to make the Copper/Colored wire more unique. These don’t have to be added but it would be amazing if they were.
Wires can be placed in water/waterlogged.
Wires can be placed on the sides and bottom of blocks.
Wires can intersect perpendicularly on a single side of a block.
