The Calibrated Hopper would enable the player to filter specific items, only allowing certain items to pass through the hopper. The name also ties in to the Calibrated Sculk Sensor.
-----
How it would work:
-----
It would function the exact same way as a regular Hopper, but has 5 more item slots which can hold any item the player wants. The items inside these 5 slots act as a filter, only allowing these items to pass through the Calibrated Hopper.
-----
Why could this be a good feature:
-----
This would simplify item sorting systems, ultimately reducing the number of hoppers required to make an efficient system, which would help with lag and fps drops for players on lower end hardware.
It would also require copper to craft, giving the item more uses.
-----
How do I craft it:
-----
The crafting recipe functions similar to the smoker or Blast Furnace upgrade, being a bit more expensive.
Recipe:
x6 Copper Ingots
x1 Hopper
x2 Redstone Torches
-----
Crafting:
C-Ingot | C-Ingot | C-Ingot
C-Ingot | Hopper | C-Ingot
R-Torch | C-Ingot | R-Torch
-----
Any special interactions:
-----
For comparators, the Calibrated Hopper would have 2 ways of detecting it's 2 inventories, (Content Items and Filter Items).
When placing a Calibrated Hopper, the side that is facing towards the player, (opposite side of the Output going into a block), will have a specific texture to indicate that this side will compare the Filter Items Inventory, while any other side will compare its regular Contents.
