smaller detail structures.

1. random small mossy/cobblestone pillars in forests.

2. random broken-down single villager houses around biomes (very rare to make it just an atmospheric addition). 

3. small patches of mycelium could around the bases of large mushrooms, (this way you don't have to travel to a mushroom biome just to get the block.)
