You would be able to craft an automatic crafter using a crafting table and some valubles (maybe netherite, redstone and gold) right clicking it would open a UI like a crafting table but the item in the output slot cannot be removed and only a single item can be placed in each slot (the carfting book should still appear and function as normal. The items in this UI would persist and would serve to "set" the recipe for the table. Items could be funneled in from each side and the top using hoppers and the crafted product could be removed from the output slot using a hopper below the table, similar to a furnace but without the restriction that side inputs only feed the fuel slot. The UI could also have nine slots labeled "in" which could hold any item the player chose to but into them and would be used for crafting (items not used in the selected recipe would simply sit in the slots) and one slot labeled "out" would hold the output up to a full stack similar to a furnace where players cannot put items in but can take them out.
This would enable people who do not know much about redstone or technical gameplay in general to set up simple machines to craft recipes with 5 or fewer engredients (which i believe is most of them) and it would still be possible to craft items requiring even 9 seperate inputs using simple redstone logic.
Automatic crafting like this could be used by players at all skill levels to automate boring and repetitve tasks. (ie crafting dispensers)
