Bacteria

This is my son's idea about a Bacterium mob:

Cubic and half a block sized, transparent green, with darker taches.

When it attacks, it does half a heart of damage, and makes you sick for one minute.

You can find it in wet and dirty biomes.

It drops spores that you can use to create a potion that can spawn new bacteria.

    What would it's health be? Would it divide if killed by a sword/tool? Requiring you to use fire or potions.
