Glowstone Circuitry - Redstone’s Polar Opposite.

NOTE: This suggestion is different from another’s which will be explained below.

Unlike Redstone, which turns on upon receiving a signal, Glowstone Dust on the ground is “on” by default and “turns off” when receiving a signal from a source such as a Glowstone Torch or a Block of Glowstone Dust. Just like the dust itself, components such as Glowstone Lamps are also on by default, but turn off when receiving a signal from Glowstone Dust, and the same applies to logic components such as Glowstone Torches and Glowstone Repeaters. Other Redstone components will also turn off Glowstone Dust, such as levers, buttons and pressure plates, but not those that are on by default, such as torches and blocks. In fact, those and Redstone Dust itself won’t even connect or be interacted with by Glowstone Dust, and levers and other such inputs will emit glowstone particles if they’re operating glowstone dust or a glowstone component. This allows for tilable Redstone and Glowstone circuitry, since the two don’t connect together, and this is spot on with slime and honey blocks not sticking together revolutionizing flying machines in the 1.15 Buzzy Bees Update.

This suggestion could even be its own future update, along with Redstone and Glowstone wire blocks that allow for even more isolated connections, finally making certain circuitry such as 1x1 pixels for displays possible, along with making it possible to combine circuitry with flying machines, creating many more possibilities for creation.

  This is a cool idea, but maybe a new ore would work better as glowstone already has a different use. According to Education Edition, Glowstone is radioactive. That cannot be shutdown. Now, the smae could be said for redstone torches, but I digress. I think a new ore, maybe Violetstone, would be better.

  There’s been a comment suggesting a new ore, but I disagree. It is true that Glowstone is radioactive, but that doesn’t mean it cannot be coupled with the ability to be shut down by components. In fact, whereas redstone is the coal power of the game, glowstone is the nuclear, and as such, could be much more unstable and thus more dangerous to work with. In fact, it can act as an electric fence when placed down as a border.

  Plus, Mojang has already stated that they won’t be adding a secondary means of power in the game, at least not in the usual way, so I may as well suggest this one while we’re still at it.
